Kirana's answer to Walmart

[I wrote this blog in February 2007 and see it is so much relevant even now especially after the Cabinet's decision on allowing FDI in Retail in India.
I do not want to own this idea that is described here in this blog and therefore ask everyone to take it and do whatever you can do with it. Thanks]

Actually I have an idea. There is a big hue & cry over big retail MNCs entering in India. People fear that they might take place of out corner-shops & the fact is they are a real threat.
So, what I planned is, that why not we somehow (I thought about this also, but only somewhat) combine & collaborate these popular but small shops & create a chain of friendly "Dukanwallahs" at almost the whole of India. They will have almost the same facilities that the big retailers would have & also with some standardization. These shops will have an added feature of already possessing space & trust.

This blog is for those people who share this idea & love to make this concept materialise.
Please help India stand on its own. Plz send me comments.
